The Journal of American Water Resources Association’s (JAWRA) featured series, “Optimizing OA Water Use to Sustain Food Systems,” highlights multidisciplinary research being carried out to improve water use efficiency through alternative crop, soil, and water management practices and further enhance the value of scarce groundwater resources in the High Plains Region. The papers in the featured series address a wide range of topics and use a wide range of modeling, field data collection, and analysis tools to develop strategies for improving groundwater use and extend the useful life of the OA.
