WCREC Field Day featuring UNL-TAPS

August 23, 2018 @ 8:30 am - 4:00 pm CDT

In North Platte at UNL’s West Central Research & Extension Center

Producers from NE & KS competing as part of this year’s Testing Ag Performance Solutions (TAPS) program will share their perspectives during a panel discussion. Tour the wide range of research conducted at the station, including the TAPS field where competitors’ randomized, replicated plots of corn and sorghum are growing under a VRI system. These plots are being monitored extensively from the air, in the canopy, and underground; more than 30 company representatives for these and other technologies will be on hand to meet with you at the field day’s Expo.

A delicious hot lunch will be served; there will also be a cool ice cream social mid-afternoon. This event also features three classroom-learning tracks in agronomy, economics, and water management with information presented by Nebraska producers and researchers from UNL, and Ogallala Water CAP project team members and other colleagues traveling in from CO, OK, TX, and KS for this event.

“This annual event gives attendees a chance to see how UNL, farmers and industry are partnering to help irrigated crop production to become more efficient and profitable,” says event organizer and UNL Crops and Water Extension Educator Chuck Burr.
