Garvey Smith is an PhD student at Colorado State University. His research interests include agricultural water management, agro-meteorology, crop and environmental modeling. He is currently working on: 1) improving the accuracy and functionality of the cloud-based WISE irrigation scheduling tool (Water Irrigation Scheduler for Efficient application) for the Republican River basin and other parts of the Ogallala aquifer and 2) implementing, calibrating and validating select cropping systems using the DSSAT cropping system model.
